Operation Sindoor

 Operation Sindoor was a decisive Indian military action launched on May 7, 2025, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir). This operation was a direct response to the Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025, where 26 civilians, primarily Hindu tourists, were killed by terrorists.

(Due to misinformation in an article, I referred to them as militants in the previous post; they were terrorists)


The operation was named "Sindoor" to refer to the red powder mark worn by married Hindu women. This choice of words highlighted the widows created by the Pahalgam attack, where men were selectively targeted. India clearly and precisely carried out measured strikes on terror camp bases, bringing them to ruins. These were conducted at several camps (9 in total). Sites were attacked in Bahawalpur(stronghold of Jaish-e-Mohammed), Muridke (Headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba), Tehra Kalan, Sialkot, Bhimber, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Gulpur, and Chak Amru.


The French twin-engine Rafale jets were equipped with SCALP Franco-British long cruise missiles and HAMMER ( Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range) precision-guided bombs. The ground army used SkyStriker, an Indian (Bengaluru) made loitering munition system. It can be suspended near the area of attack for around 2 hours and then explode, which makes it hard to detect. To defend and intercept Pakistani drones and missiles in the Indian states of Punjab, Rajasthan, J&K, as well as Gujarat, we used the S-400 Missile Defence System, which is also called Sudarshan Chakra.


Overall, this attack did not mark an Indian escalation nor a military attack; it was simply a retaliation condemning terrorism. I sincerely hope this situation can be solved quickly and constructively (rather than destructively) as possible. I hope there are no more civilian casualties, and I wish everyone strength and support all across India. Today, as a citizen on one side of this conflict, I hope this age-long rivalry can be brought to peace, if not that both countries become allied, at least that they remain close to neutral.

ChatGPT causes wildifres?

I didn't even know that until I started researching for this blog post. A report by Goldman Sachs states that one ChatGPT query takes 2.9 watt-hours of electricity compared to 0.3 watt-hours a Google search takes. This is why, AI is blamed for massive carbon footprints, causing global warming. Overheating servers and greenhouse gas emissions are all causes of global warming and hence a direct cause of wildfires. Shaolei Ren, an associate professor at UC Riverside, discovered that writing one email with ChatGPT consumes 17 ounces of water. There are multiple such AI bots, so imagine the water consumption. In 2023, Microsoft reported a 29% increase in emissions and 23% higher water use due to technological advancements. HMPV; The new pandemic?

 Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a hot topic in the health and medical field. Most cases are mild, but young children, adults over 65, and people with weaker immune systems are more prone to the disease.  Will it cause a pandemic? Researchers and experts say no. HMPV is not a new threat or virus; it has been around for decades, which means there is a lot of immunity against it. It's more like a seasonal flu outbreak-- preventive measures like wearing masks can help control the spread of this disease. It is also not a very severe illness ( in most cases), and it doesn't spread quickly either.
